John Morrison, Matt Hardy & The Great Khali def. Intercontinental Champion Drew McIntyre & The Hart Dynasty
One week earlier on “WWE Superstars,” The Great Khali watched as Matt Hardy was pinned by one-half of The Hart Dynasty, David Hart Smith. But this week saw The Punjabi Playboy join the fray along with John Morrison as they took on the aggressive team of Intercontinental Champion Drew McIntyre, Tyson Kidd & Smith. Despite the second-generation Superstar’s impressive size and strength it wasn’t enough to overcome Khali, who hit Smith with the Punjabi Plunge and pinned him for the win. Following the match, Morrison and Hardy joined The Punjabi Playboy in his customary Bhangra-infused celebration.

David Hart Smith def. Matt Hardy; The Great Khali cleared the ring of competitors
On the previous episode of SmackDown, Matt Hardy teamed with The Great Khali to take on The Hart Dynasty and scored a win after pinning the powerhouse Superstar David Hart Smith. On “WWE Superstars” the second-generation competitor seized his chance at retribution by defeating Hardy one-on-one as The Great Khali, Tyson Kidd and Natalya all looked on from ringside. Following the match, The Punjabi Playboy entered the ring and proceeded to clear it of all competitors, including his associate Matt Hardy, proving that in the Royal Rumble Match it truly is every Superstar for himself.

Despite the sexy, smart and powerful Natalya’s attempt at distracting The Great Khali outside of the ring, his partner, Matt Hardy, took care of business by wrapping up David Hart Smith in an inside cradle to get the win.

CM Punk & Luke Gallows def. The Great Khali & Matt Hardy, Cryme Tyme and The Hart Dynasty (Fatal Four-Way Tag Team Match)
For the second week in a row, The Second City Saint converted a member of the WWE Universe to the Straightedge Society, shaving his new recruit’s head as a symbol of his transformation from his “past transgressions” into a new way of life. In the process, Punk pledged that he would continue his Straightedge quest by winning the Royal Rumble Match as the first step toward the salvation of society.CM Punk & Luke Gallows went on to triumph over three other tag teams, winning the right to face Unified Tag Team Champions D-Generation X for the titles. Though JTG went for the pin on The Straightedge Superstar, he hadn’t noticed that Punk’s “Detoxified Disciple” had tagged himself in. Gallows made short work of the unsuspecting Superstar, hitting him with the Gallows Pole for the monumental victory.
